The Road Gulch area consists of several disjoint blocks of land south and west of McIntyre Hills WSA and south of Highway 50. There are about a dozen BLM motorized routes of various types - sandy, rocky, and dirt. The area is often rideable in winter because it doesn't get much snow.

The BLM motorized routes are generally short sections that lead off from county roads and dead-end; there are no through routes. Combining exploration of this area along with a ride at nearby McCoy Gulch works well. The total riding mileage is about 25 miles, so all routes can easily be ridden in a day.

The map clip on the right --->  shows the various short sections. Click the map to see a larger jpg version showing the entire area (print for reference).

Click Off-highway Vehicles and then "Road Gulch" on the lower right to get a pdf map of the area.

DIRECTIONS: From Cañon City, drive west on Highway 50 about xx miles to Texas Creek. Turn left onto CR 69 and drive south to encounter turnoffs to the left and right. Turn left onto Road Gulch Road to find several more turnoffs.

No YouTube videos; check back in the spring.

See Dual Sport Riding in Central Colorado for information about other areas and rides.
