The Salida North area has very little BLM motorized development. The area close to Salida is primarily used by bicylists on bicycle/hiker designated trails. The area is often rideable in winter because it doesn't get much snow.

The BLM motorized routes consist of one connector and some very short access spurs. The connector goes from CR 176 to FR 173. The total riding mileage is about 3 miles (not including spurs).

The map clip on the right --->  shows the various routes. Click the map to see a larger jpg version showing the entire area (print for reference).

Click Off-highway Vehicles and then "Salida North" on the lower right to get a pdf map of the area.

DIRECTIONS: From Salida at the intersection of 1st Street and F Street, drive west on 1st Street/SH 291 about 1 mile to CR 175. Turn right onto CR 175, ride past the lake on your right, cross the small bridge, then turn right at the T intersection. Follow CR 175 as it crosses the railroad tracks and starts up a gentle grade. Turn right onto CR 176 (Spiral Drive) and follow the dirt road to a parking lot about 2 miles up the road. Turn left onto BLM 5677 and continue to FR 173.
